Coolray | Mr. Plumber has been a client of ROCKET MEDIA's from the beginning of their website creation. Once their website was designed and developed to display their quality services and online customer tools, they were ready to start measuring their progress. Coolray | Mr. Plumber wanted to know:
1. Who their site was attracting.
2. What their visitors were looking at.
3. Which leads called from their online advertising vs. their phone book advertising.
4. If the new website design layout was confusing to visitors and if so, how they could improve.
5. Which pages were the most popular, and if there is a strong call to action on that page.
6. Validation their marketing was effective.
Solution
In March 2008, ROCKET Analytics - Web & Voice was turned on for Coolray | Mr. Plumber. ROCKET Analytics - Web requires a snippet of tracking code be pasted into the code at the bottom of every page on the site. Once all of the tracking code was on the site, real-time statistics were generated through their live stat caster.
For ROCKET Analytics - Voice, phone numbers were purchased for every campaign that Coolray | Mr. Plumber wanted to track - online and offline - for a total of 9 numbersl. Campaigns: Pay-Per-Click advertising, Static Web Typed-In Traffic, Organic Leads, Social Media Campaign, Email Marketing, Magazine Advertising and two networking groups that advertise both online and offline.
The ROCKET Analytics consulting staff recommended the Annual ROCKET Analytics – Web Tracing option and the 501-1,500 minute voice-tracking plan. Because Coolray | Mr. Plumber wanted to verify the effectiveness of each month’s marketing efforts over the next year, the annual option was a good fit. With 9 different numbers, the 501 -1,500 minute plan helped to assure they did not go over their minute limitation.

1. Added additional pages to satisfy visitor searches. Based on Coolray | Mr. Plumber's Top Ten Popular Pages tracking, it was clear that the "Online Savings" page of their website was a page that needed to be updated. "Online Savings" was in the top three of the popular pages report every day. Originally, Coolray | Mr. Plumber provided one coupon that was always the same. With ROCKET Analytics - Web, they saw the benefit of adding more coupons and updating them monthly because of the high traffic on that specific page.
2. Tracked referral links to identify best social media outlets. When Coolray | Mr. Plumber began their Social Media Marketing through ROCKET MEDIA, they needed a way to track all of the inbound traffic from the new social media communities, in order to define the most popular social media outlets for their company. ROCKET Analytics - Web has a Referral Tracking function that can track all traffic coming from specified domains. We set up Referral Tracking to count all of their traffic for each community, making it easy to build monthly reports and clearly see that Twitter and Facebook are the most popular social media communities for Coolray | Mr. Plumber.
3. Tracked hourly visitor totals to determine best hours to run radio ads. Visitor Totals show hourly, daily, weekly and monthly totals of unique visitors and their total page views. The marketing team for Coolray | Mr. Plumber purchased a few different radio ads with different stations. They tracked the results with both web and voice analytics. Viewing their Visitor Totals by hour, they could see which stations were producing the most traffic to their site and what time of day was the best to have their ads play.
4. Defined best Search Engines for their SEM campaigns along with top keywords and phrases. The Search Engine results through ROCKET Analytics - Web, displays the most popular search engines used to find the Coolray | Mr. Plumber website. This is a great tool because it compares the total traffic from each search engine in one window. No need to login to three different systems and then compare results, the Search Engine feature show them all together and lists the top, most popular key words/phrases for each search engine. Based on these stats, Coolray | Mr. Plumber was able to see that Google was the most popular search engine for their site prompting them to put more money into Pay-Per-Click advertising and defining more successful keywords for their campaign.
5. Identified popular cities to geotarget with landing pages and other online campaigns. When it comes to geotargeting online ads and optimization, it is hard to tell which cities will yeild the most traffic and converted leads. Luckily, because of ROCKET Analytics - Web, the feature, "Global Stats" shows the most popular country, state and cities with viewers going to your website. Based on this information, ROCKET MEDIA's Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experts recommended developing landing pages that related specifically to each of the most popular cities from this data. Once these were created and published on the web, Coolray | Mr. Plumber saw a 30% spike in their organic web traffic leading specifically to the new landing pages.
ROCKET Analytic - Voice Results
1. Cut lead source tracking questions out of their phone calls. Along with the 3 included tracking phone numbers, Coolray | Mr. Plumber purchased 6 additional tracking phone numbers for their other offline lead source tracking. This took the extra conversation of "How did you hear about us?" out of the equation. This shortened their phone calls and helped their CSR staff get right to the point of solving the callers problem or scheduling an appointment.
2. Calls recorded improving sales and customer service interactions. Each phone call made through ROCKET Analytics - Voice has a pre recorded message at the beginning, notifying the caller that their call will be recorded.
